“Dead Beat Descendent”, performed live in the studio for Snub TV, which was a great show (if memory serves).

Odd that; I was discussing Snub TV with someone over the weekend, and we both concurred what an excellent show it was. According to Wiki, it only ran from 1987-89, but it seemed like longer, in hindsight.

For some reason, watching the above video immediately made me think of the one which (hopefully) you’ll see below.

MySpace Video? I’ve never even heard of that before and it doesn’t seem to work very well, does it?

Anyway, that is an incredible video. The way I remember it, Jonathan Ross decided to do his chat show from a moving train that week and he had Mark E. Smith and Craig Scanlon on, performing “White Lightning” with Steve Naive & The Playboys (wasn’t he in The Attractions?) I think some guy shouted out “crap!” at the end.

The video for “Bombast” that fellow posted on MySpace looks amazing too. Is it from The Tube? If only I could get it to play properly. Maybe I can find these things on YouTube.

And while we’re at it, why has there never been a DVD of I am Kurious Oranj? I’m pretty sure they filmed it.

Mmm, that’s the first and last time I’ll be linking to a MySpace video. I should stress I am NOT knowingly connected with ‘The Pessimist Club’ and only posted it after apparently being too fick to find the same performance on YouTube (for which I blame the missin’ ‘G’).

PS. Yes, the Bombast footage is from The Tube.

The “Bombast” video is probably the single best Fall clip I’ve ever seen. The costumes alone make it worth watching – Smith in a leather trench-coat + eye-shadow combo and what on earth is Brix wearing?
